Graphic design is neither art nor technology. It is the appreciation of form and colour and style. 

Typography is most important factor in the majority of graphics and any Graphic Designer will very quickly tell you his favourite typeface and why.  (Gill Sans is mine by the way – designed by Eric Gill who trained under the famous designer of the London Underground Map – Edward Johnston)

Beautiful in both upper and lower case it is just as good in capitals; very rare in typography.   

But it’s the matching of lettering with colour and images that makes Graphic Design a skill, a profession
